Growing up, I was obsessed with all things glow-in-the-dark. I had shoes that only revealed their light-bright powers when I hid in the closet, I created “secret” pictures on my walls with phosphorescent paint, and my sweet high school boyfriend even covered the ceiling of my bedroom with a galaxy of stars (including a not-so-accurate heart constellation, which is still intact today). My point: All that was before I’d discovered my love of letterpress and typography, but I STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN OBSESSED WITH THIS POSTER.

I sort of think I NEED all of these things from Manimal. I’m just not sure what I need most.

I meant to post this pic months ago, but I forgot. How sweet are these stools designed by Greg Hatton?

By now I think it’s pretty clear that I have a real affection for pendant lamps. That doesn’t make this SUCK UK Wooden Bulb lamp any less cool though.
Light Brights. AR and I did P.S.1 this past weekend, and I was completely inspired by this wood and (apparently?) Christmas light piece. I regret now that I forgot to jot down the piece’s name or the artist (was from the Between Spaces exhibition.)
Anyway, I spent some time studying and think it would be great fodder for a DIY project:
1. Drill evenly spaced holes in the wood
2. Arrange boards as desired; attach with screws
3. Stain art form a milky white
4. Unscrew (round, medium-sized) Christmas lights from their sockets, then reattach, pushing the sockets through the holes in the wood so the cord runs along the back side of the wood and the lights “float” on the front
5. Staple the cord down along the backside so it is hidden
6. Hang
(P.S. Sorry for the blurry cellphone pic!)
